Wild turkey

The wild turkey is a gregarious animal, which means that it is a social creature. Living in groups offers greater safety with a larger number of individuals to keep an eye out for its many predators. For increased safety, the wild turkey sleeps on low branches of trees.
Reproduction
Sexually mature at 1 year. Mating and egg laying occurs between February and July depending on the region. The 8-15 eggs are incubated by the female for 28 days. The young can fly up to roosting sites after 9-14 days.
Alimentation
Omnivorous , mostly herbivorous, feeding on acorns, seeds, leaves and fruit, but also takes insects, earthworms, small reptiles and amphibians.
Prédateurs
The majority of land-bound carnivorous mammals.
Longévité
Up to 10 years in the wild and in captivity.
